Hello Sixth Grade Parents,
I hope you are well and healthy. After April vacation I will be posting new suggested music lessons for each week. We realize everyone has a lot going on right now so please use these lesson ideas as suggestions-they are not required by the district. The most important thing right now is to use music as a way to relax, take time out from everything and enjoy.
We have a weekly sing-along at 2pm on Thursdays on the closed Vernon Music Facebook page. Please contact me for an invite. Send any song requests to me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Singing is a great way to have fun, release stress and relax either by yourself or as a family. Sing whatever songs you enjoy.
After vacation, I will be posting a new song here every week to sing along with. Some songs will be old favorites and others will be new songs.
Enjoy the Music You Hear in Nature
Go outside and listen to the music around you-birds, wind, peepers, cows and more. After vacation I will be posting examples of the music I hear around me. Send recordings of what you hear to me at email@example.com.
Dancing is also a great way to get out energy after sitting in front of a compute for a long time. Remember that you don't need music in order to dance. You can dance to your favorite music, create your own dances, dance around outside and just be silly moving around.
Make your own instruments. After vacation I will be posting ideas about how to create your own instruments out of basic household items or common things you can find outside.
Stay safe and enjoy making music with your child. Please contact me with any questions.
